Lot 462a Butcher's Set for Buffalo Hunter.
Frontier era, with hide over wood and tacked square body showing initial "V". Thin waist belt of same era attached 5 thin steel knives and 1 with fancy pewter inlay and 1 marked. Dark patina on brass tacks and letter. Fair to good overall with pleasing age and small losses to leather. Blade is worn from sharpening, use, rust, etc. Provenance: C. W.
